At Charlie’s Piano Academy, we believe music is a language everyone can learn, and have lots of fun doing so. We care deeply about the power of music in neural development, emotional connection, creativity, and collaboration. Music is a vast landscape and it’s meant to be explored in your very own way.
We will work with your specific goals, whether that’s learning to play your favorite songs, embracing technique, or simply diving into something new. Or, if you don’t have anything specific in mind, we can provide an all-encompassing structure to make sure you get the full experience, face-to-face.
My Journey
Experience
I began piano at age six in my hometown of Chicago, having experience with a few teachers that laid my musical foundation. I realized what kept me coming back to play each week was the excitement of learning what I was naturally inclined to play, and after one specific teacher guided me through playing my favorite songs, I knew my journey would be lifelong. I began guitar and music production through high school and continued into college, graduating from Lewis University with a Music Industry degree. After college, I went on to teach private lessons for over 40 students for 3 years before moving to Austin to continue my teaching journey in the Lone Star State. After participating in so many areas of the music world, I’ve come to realize music is much more than what instrument & technique you use – it’s the internal expression and interaction with life that lies at the foundation.
